Less of a series, and more of an expanded idea, "Jamais Plus" means "Nevermore" in French.  A friend of mine and I were working on practicing French together, and we were reading Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" in French.  I created this painting for him, tossing around ideas of the "Pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door," and the "silken, sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain."
He requested that it be in a diamond orientation, which was quite a challenge, as this is on a 36 x 36" museum-wrapped (3" deep) canvas.  It took me about 6 months to complete, and it was very challenging to keep it balanced while I worked on it.  Also difficult to photograph.  You're welcome, John. LOL.
